This cold broccoli salad recipe is even better the next day.
What you need:
- 4 cups broccoli chopped into 1 inch pieces
- 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
- 1/4 chopped celery
- 1/4 cup raisins
- 1/2 cup raw unsalted sunflower seads
- 1/2 lb. bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 3/4 cup prepared salad dressing
- 2 tsp. cider vinegar
- sald and freshly ground black pepper to taste
What you do:
Place the chopped broccoli in a large serving bowl. Mix in the onion, celery, raisins, sunflower seeds and bacon. Combine the sugar with the salad dressing or mayonnaise. (I use low-fat and it tastes just as good) Add the vinegar and season with salt and pepper. Pour over the salad and toss until well combined. Refrigerate for a few hours before serving.
